No Time to Mourn
Jasmine Lupton, a dedicated employee for two years, shared a deep bond with her grandmother, who had raised her. After her grandmother's passing, her request for bereavement leave was denied by her boss, Miles Jekyll, who cited non-immediate kin and project deadlines. Threatened with performance cuts and forced to resign, Jasmine courageously wore mourning clothes at work, participating in her grandmother's funeral via video call from her desk. This act sparked workplace controversy, but she stayed true to her values. When Miles's trusted aide caused a major project to fail, resulting in his demotion, Jasmine stepped up, turning the project around with her expertise. Her success led to a well-earned promotion, fulfilling her sense of self-worth and honoring her grandmother's memory.
